Keegan Bradley admits he ‘felt bad’ about what he did immediately after beating Tommy Fleetwood to win the Travelers
Keegan Bradley pipped Tommy Fleetwood to the Travelers Championship title at TPC River Highlands last month.
Bradley‘s win at the Travelers Championship catapulted him inside the top 10 on the U.S. Ryder Cup points list.
And the Ryder Cup captain’s elation meant yet more heartache for Fleetwood, with the Englishman still waiting for his first PGA Tour win.
The classy Fleetwood congratulated Bradley after the American won the Travelers Championship, and his day will undoubtedly come.
Interestingly, Fleetwood suggested that Bradley would be an amazing Ryder Cup captain last year, just after the man from Vermont was given the job.

The two players obviously have a lot of respect for one another.
And that’s probably why Bradley felt so bad about something he did immediately after winning the Travelers at TPC River Highlands.
Keegan Bradley makes Tommy Fleetwood admission after his Travelers win
Fleetwood has now played 159 PGA Tour events without a single win to his name.
He has 42 top-10 finishes on the PGA Tour – more than anyone else who hasn’t won an event.
His second-placed finish at the Travelers would have hurt him more than most.
And Bradley admitted that he felt bad about his celebrations immediately after holing the winning putt, when speaking on the Fore Play Podcast Plus.

The U.S. Ryder Cup captain said: “It was a cool moment. To be honest with you, I know I’m supposed to be this like macho competitor. I really did feel for Tommy, like I really did. In the days following it was a weird feeling because I did really feel for him. I felt a little bit bad when I looked back at how crazy I went.
“This stupid game we play we’re always trying to hold back our emotions. That whole day, every hole they’re chanting ‘USA’ and calling me captain, I’m ready to jump out of my skin and make that putt and I blacked out. I don’t even remember. It’s been weird because I really did feel for him and I know that’s not what I’m supposed to say. I was obviously thrilled to win but I did feel for him.”
Bradley doesn’t have to feel bad. If Fleetwood had won, there is no doubt that he would have celebrated in style as well.
Unfortunately, someone always has to lose, that’s the nature of elite level sport.
Tommy Fleetwood’s PGA Tour record
Make no mistake about it, Fleetwood will win one day on the PGA Tour, and that day is probably not too far away in the future.
How he has not won yet in America really is bizarre considering just how good his record is.

That is a seriously impressive record – one that many other PGA Tour pros would be envious of.
He needs to keep working hard and have genuine belief in his own ability and he’ll be just fine.
Fleetwood will be a PGA Tour winner before his career is done.
