Last year, the best decision-maker was Jeeno Thitikul who throughout the season demonstrated elite decision-making with an impressive +0.39 strokes gained on every Challenge hole played and a 35 percent go-for-green success rate (2nd on the LPGA Tour in 2024).
In 2023, Challenge champ Angel Yin combined fantastic ball-striking and an incredible short game. She went for the green on 46 percent of the Challenge holes, reaching it 24 percent of the time and helping her secure a top-15 spot in strokes gained around the green on those holes.
Three years ago, Minjee Lee captured the Challenge, thanks to her strong driving performance that positioned her to go for the green 58 percent of the time versus the tour average of 32 percent. Her approach shots on Challenge holes landed 16 feet closer than opponents on average, helping her finish second in strokes gained overall.
In 2021, Hannah Green birdied 72 percent and eagled nearly 10 percent of the Challenge holes. On the par 5s, her go-for-green success rate was 68 percent, compared to the field average of 46 percent. She never scored worse than par on Challenge holes.
In the Challenge’s inaugural 2019 season, Carlota Ciganda contended all year long, but she catapulted up the leaderboard with eagle-birdie scores on Challenge holes in consecutive weeks late in the year to secure the title.
