The LPGA Tour is in the midst of a strenuous stretch of the 2025 schedule: This is the third major in seven weeks. Anyone can miss a cut at a major at any time, but factor in the quick succession of majors, and it’s not a surprise that even some top players missed the cut at the 2025 Amundi Evian Championship. After two rounds at the Evian Resort Golf Club, Somi Lee leads at 10 under with Grace Kim and Jennifer Kupcho trailing close behind at nine under and eight under, respectively.
Calm winds aided low scores in the opening round. After two rounds, the cut was made at two-over. Among those who missed the cut are major champions, recent winners, and two players ranked in the top five in the world.
The Swede won the 2025 U.S. Women’s Open at Erin Hills, but missed the cut by two at Evian. She only hit 40 percent of her greens in regulation over the course on Thursday and Friday, while her average for the season has been 70 percent.
The Evian is a special place for Ko: Back in 2015, she won her first major there. Currently ranked No. 3 in the world, Ko shot 73-74 to miss the cut by three. It comes as a surprise since Ko has had a strong season in 2025, with three top-six finishes at LPGA events, including a win at the HSBC Women’s World Championship.
Ranked No. 4 in the world, Yin missed the cut by one. She’s had strong finishes in the other majors in 2025: T-2 at the Chevron, T-4 at the U.S. Women’s Open and T-23 at the KPMG Women’s PGA Championship. The 22-year-old already has five LPGA victories to her name.
